K&M Sheet Metal and Roofing Supply offers a wide range of brake metal, edge metal and flashing metal for the roofing industry.
We are equipped with machinery such as brakes, shears, CNC lasers and are able to brake / bend metal in 10′ and up to 20′ in lengths.
We offer all standard profiles needed for your roofing job and can manufacture custom profiles and shapes as well, including curved /radius pieces.
Edge Metal for Rubber, Shingle, Wood and Metal Roofs
K&M Sheet Metal specializes in the custom manufacturing edge metal for flat and pitched roofs.
Baldy Cleat
This profile is commonly shaped like an L with a kick. Some refer to this as a simple drip edge as well.
Cornice
Used to decorate and to act sometimes as gutters at the edge of a building. Learn more.
Drip Edge
This profile is used on the edge of a roof and can have many different profiles and dimensions.
Gravel Stop
This profile is used on the edge of a flat roof, normally filled with gravel, with the intent of not letting water go over it.
Hook Strip / Continuous Cleat
Used to hang any type of edge metal without exposed fasteners. This profile is installed first, then followed by a gravel stop, baldy cleat, parapet cap etc.
J Channel
Normally used for the installation of roof panels, this profile accepts a panel and is used for a ridge cap to hook onto.
Parapet Wall Cap
Caps a parapet wall. Commonly used with hook strip on one side, both, or with a one piece hook strip system.
Ridge Cap
Used on the ridge of a roof. This may be made in certain profiles for shingle roofing, wood roofing, metal and slate roofing.
Scupper Box
Items used to drain water out of a roof, normally into a leader head.
Z Channel
Used on applications much like the J channel, except this is inserted inside a roof panel, making it so the panel does not need to be boxed. This is a much faster installation method, but there are cuts that need to be caulked, which are not present on installations with j channel and boxed panels.
Masonry coping caps
Normally flat pieces with kicks on both ends to act as drip edges. Kicks may also feature hems.
Miters
Commonly made as separate pieces for profiles such as drip edge or through wall flashing.
Reglet
Used to counter flash areas. Most commonly used on chimneys. Features a kick / hook area to stay in place.
Step Flashing
Used to counter flash areas. Most commonly used on chimneys. Commonly made out of copper and stainless steel.
Vented Ridge Cap
Used to counter flash areas. Most commonly used on chimneys. Commonly made out of copper and stainless steel.
Window and Door heads
Profiles used on divert any water form the top of a window or door away.
Window and Door Jambs
Profiles used on the installation of windows and doors to direct water away from a structure.
Window and Door Sills
Profiles used to direct any water that made its way behind doors or windows away.

Are any pre made / standard profiles available?
Some standard profiles are available, however, all are manufactured to order.
How are orders shipped?
Normally on a pallet / crate.
What lengths are available?
Pretty much anything up to 20', depending on stock availability (coil). 10' / 20' are standard lengths. There is an upcharge for waste.
What profiles of edge metal and flashing metal are available?
Most standard roofing profiles like Drip Edges, Ridge Caps & Ridge Rolls, L & Z flashings, Box Vents & Pipe Vents, and V & W Valley flashing are available to buy directly from our online store. Custom profiles need to be quoted. Please, contact us for an estimate.
K&M is located in Durham, NC in the RTP Area (Research Triangle). Local pickups are available. We supply homeowners and contractors alike in NC, TN, KY, SC, GA and VA as well as shipping orders all over the United States. Discounts may be available for bulk orders.
