Flat Lock Panels for Roofs and Walls
Flat-Lock roofing panels come in a variety of shapes, sizes and metals. These panels are ideal for flat roofs, domes, turrets and any wall panel system – interior or exterior. Metal clips and nails for fastening the panels are available. Pre-Tinning of edges is also available.
Flat lock panels always need to be soldered on low sloped roofs.
That means colored materials like Kynar aluminum and steel should only be used on walls or steep pitched roofs.
Flat lock panels are typically made with dimensions that get an even number of panels out of a sheet or coil.
For example, if using copper sheets 3’x10′, panels are cut to a size of 18″ x 24″, where 10 panels are extracted from every sheet and for Aluminum and Steel the common sheet size is 4'x10' so the panel size is 24" x 30", where 8 panels are extracted from every sheet. The lock size can vary, but it is commonly 0.75″.
